  • Read all house rules and policies carefully before booking
  • Check the gender policy matches your requirements
  • Review photos and amenities — if something seems too good to be true, ask questions
  • If possible, visit the boarding house in person before committing to a long-term stay
During Your Stay
  • Keep your room locked when you're away
  • Don't share your building access codes with non-residents
  • Report any maintenance or safety concerns to your BHO immediately
  • Know the location of fire exits and emergency equipment
  • Follow the curfew and visitor policies set by the boarding house
  • Keep emergency contact numbers accessible
Red Flags to Watch For
  • Owner asks for payment outside the myBoardHub platform
  • Listing photos don't match the actual property
  • No written lease or rental agreement provided
  • Safety equipment (fire extinguishers, smoke detectors) is missing
  • Owner refuses to provide a receipt for payments

If you encounter any of these, please report it to our team.
