Before Reserving
- Verify the boarding house is marked as "Verified" on our platform
- Read all house rules and policies carefully before booking
- Check the gender policy matches your requirements
- Review photos and amenities — if something seems too good to be true, ask questions
- If possible, visit the boarding house in person before committing to a long-term stay
During Your Stay
- Keep your room locked when you're away
- Don't share your building access codes with non-residents
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns to your BHO immediately
- Know the location of fire exits and emergency equipment
- Follow the curfew and visitor policies set by the boarding house
- Keep emergency contact numbers accessible
Red Flags to Watch For
- Owner asks for payment outside the myBoardHub platform
- Listing photos don't match the actual property
- No written lease or rental agreement provided
- Safety equipment (fire extinguishers, smoke detectors) is missing
- Owner refuses to provide a receipt for payments
